kad ir neoriginal, bet bent opcija naudingesne nei kompasas

o ir isvaizda kaip originalo labai jau panasi

ITEMS NEEDED:
A4 Compass/Auto-dim mirror unit - 4Z7-857-511-B-01C
Wire Cover, glass side - 4B0-857-511-C-01C
Wire Cover, interior side - 4B0-857-593
Mating Connector - 4B0-971-833? (couldn't read the last 3 digits clearly, but I do know that the Amp, the connector manufacturer, part number is 964-967)
Mating Connector terminals - Unknown
I was able to get the connector with terminals from Amp as a sample, due to the nature of my job. I'm sure they could be ordered through the dealer.
CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE:
Only 2 circiuts NEED to be made, Power and Ground. The third circuit, Reverse Gear Signal, can be omitted.
Power
This needs to be connected to an Ignition 1 line. Ignition 1 is active active when you have the key in an turned to the Accessory or Run position. You don't want to connect this to a constantly-on circuit (ie. Front Overhead Light Assembly power and power outlet) or else it will be on when your car is off and there is the potential of battery drain. For GLX vehicles with the auto-dim only mirror, Fuse #31 at the IP Left Endcap is used. This is an Ignition 1 type fuse, and is what I used.
Ground
In GLX vehicles with the auto-dim only mirror, this ground circuit is common with the ground for the lights in the Front Overhead Light Assembly. The ground wire at the Assembly's connector is BROWN, pin #3 (for reference, the other pins are: #1-BROWN/WHITE, door open ground signal, and #2-red/black, power).
Reverse Gear Signal
The intention of this signal is as follows: When you go to back up the vehicle, a dimmed mirror may make the task difficult, so this feature is therefore disabled. When 12V is applied to this circuit, the mirror auto-dim feature is disabled, but NOT the dimming feature of the compass display. The revese signal is 12V when this gear is selected. This circuit is somewhere in the "Reverse Lamp Connector in the instrument panel wiring harness, A87", according to the Bentley CD. I don't know any more information about this circuit in the vehicle. Since I didn't care for the auto-dim feature at all, I tied this circuit to 12V (fuse #31 also) to disable it at all times.
In summary:
Pin#...Color.......Function...............Connects To
===...====....======..............================ ========
1........white......Rev. Gear Signal...Fuse #31 (auto-dim always disabled)
2........black......Ground.................Front OH Light Asm, pin #3, brown wire
4........yellow.....Power, 12V...........Fuse #31
GENERAL INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS:
1. Once you have made a jumper harness for the A4 mirror, take out the Center (3rd) sunshade and the entire Front Overhead Light Assembly. There should then be enough room between the headliner and the sheetmetal to slide the wires through.
2. Solder connections are best. If not, use splice packs or butt-splices. You may want to wrap these parts with electrical tape (felt type is best, but not a common item in stores) to help deter rattles.
3. If you are unable to get a mate connector and terminals to the mirror, you can use any small female pin that mates to it. Just be sure to use shrink-wrap for each pin as to avoid shorts (ie. pin-to-pin contacts when installed).
